The sensing element is a resistor connected between the red and black terminals. The sensor is protected by a multifuse.
The Current sensor is specially designed for measurements of very low and accurate currents.

Technical specifications:

Measurement range: – 500 mA .. +500 mA
Resolution: 0.38 mA
Maximum voltage: 50 V
Maximum measurement frequency: 100 kHz (CoachLab II+, WiLab) / 1 MHz (VinciLab 2)
Warrantee: 36 months

All technical specifications of the sensor are described in the product manual, see downloads.

The current sensor can be used in various physics experiments such as:

Characteristics of a light bulb and a diode
Measurements of internal resonance and EMF
Measurements in series and parallel electrical circuits
Together with a Differential Voltage Sensor it can be used to explore the relationship between the current and the voltage in electrical circuits – Ohm’s Law.

A ‘P4272-1K BT sensor cable, single’ is required to connect the sensor to the interface.
Please check whether you already have this cable in your stock.
